Jim and Michael – authors of this blog – are currently in the Dominican Republic (sadly for work, not vacation). As a result, we have been slow to post this entry – we apologize for the slight delay.
The Office of Regulatory Reinvention has released its report detailing the recommendations from the Advisory Rules Committee. This report details the changes to the Michigan Liquor Control Code and Administrative Rules that were recommended by the committee (as amended by the ORR). In general, we find the recommendations to be positive. At the moment we are detailing our thoughts and notes on all of the major changes. We hope to post these prior to our return from the Dominican Republic, however, it may be several days before we are able to post. Thank you for your patience.
While you wait, you can find the report HERE and come to your own conclusions.
On a different note – those of you with gas station/c-stores may appreciate this — while in the DR, we have seen several locations that sell nothing but fuel and beer… with the beer located in a cooler directly between two pumps. It seems they do not care much about inventory or 50 feet!
